For schools

Built with schools. Designed to grow with them.

A practical guide for administrators: what the room needs, what Waste2Light supplies, and how the first practical session gets scheduled.

Requirements

What the room needs.

Grounded in the Green Energy Corner setup guidelines.

Who it is for

  • Primary schools running introductory practical science
  • Secondary schools building STEM and electronics capability
  • Institutions preparing students for engineering pathways

Minimum laboratory requirements

  • A dedicated, secure room that can be reserved for practical work
  • Room dimensions recorded and photographed before setup
  • Space for a teaching area and separate practical benches

Furniture

  • Practical work tables suitable for group work
  • Seating for a full class
  • Lockable storage for kits and components
  • A display surface or shelving for finished projects

Electrical & digital infrastructure

  • Working sockets serving the practical benches
  • Adequate lighting for detailed component work
  • Internet access and a display screen where possible

Safety

  • Safety provisions in place before the first practical
  • Supervised handling of components and instruments
  • Clear procedures for storage and end-of-session checks
Inside the lab

A space designed for making.

The Green Energy Corner is organised into zones so a class can move from explanation to build to demonstration without rearranging the room.

For schools

Built with schools. Designed to grow with them.

A clear split of responsibilities keeps setup realistic and the programme sustainable.

Waste2Light provides

  • Green Energy STEM Kits

Implementation

The setup checklist.

Worked through together, in order, before the room opens to students.

  1. 01Confirm the room to be used as the Green Energy Corner
  2. 02Record room dimensions and take photographs
  3. 03Build practical furniture to the recommended standard
  4. 04Confirm electrical infrastructure and sockets
  5. 05Prepare a display area for student projects
  6. 06Arrange internet access where possible
  7. 07Put safety provisions in place
  8. 08Take delivery of and inventory the kits
  9. 09Complete teacher orientation
  10. 10Run the first practical session
  11. 11Document the first student projects
The growth path

Start small. Build something bigger.

The first five kits are the beginning, not the destination. Each level adds capability to the same room.

  1. Track 1

    Green Energy

The starting point. Practical solar, wind and energy work with real components.

  2. Track 2

    Electronics

Circuits, measurement, components and fault-finding as a discipline of their own.

  3. Track 3

    Arduino & Coding

Microcontrollers, sensors and code layered onto the energy fundamentals.

  4. Track 4

    Robotics

A separate expansion kit taking students into control and automation.

  5. Track 5

    3D Printing

Students move from assembling parts to designing and producing their own.

  6. Track 6

    Maker / Prototyping

Fabrication, tooling and the workflow of turning an idea into a built object.

  7. Track 7

    Advanced Renewable Energy

A full technology laboratory capable of serious student engineering.

Student project model

Practical projects from about ₦3,000.

Rather than one-time kit sales, Waste2Light provides fixed-price practical project packs. Part of every practical stays with the school.

  • ₦2,500 Waste2Light

Project materials, technical support and programme delivery for each student practical.

  • ₦500 School Innovation Account

Reinvested by the school into STEM materials, maintenance, student projects and future innovation activities.

Indicative pricing for a standard starter practical. Final structure is agreed with each school.

First planned deployment

Superior Minds Academy

The school provides the laboratory space and works with its own carpenters to build furniture to Waste2Light's recommended laboratory standards, then progressively introduces a smart TV, reliable internet, 3D printing and robotics equipment.

Deployment scope

  • Five Green Energy STEM Kits
  • Laboratory setup guidelines
  • Teacher guidance
  • Practical learning resources
  • Digital learning content
  • Student practical projects
